‘Skeem Saam’ fans want Toby arrested for Ntswaki’s assault
Skeem Saam fans are defending Turfloop learner, Ntswaki (Lethabo Mekoa) after she got raped by Toby.
WHY IS NTSWAKI HOSPITALISED?
Ntswaki shocked Skeem Saam viewers when she confirmed to her family that she was raped. Her family have no idea she was raped by her boyfriend, Toby (Sicelo Buthelezi).
In the episode, Ntswaki changes her mind about sleeping with her boyfriend after receiving missed calls from the Maputlas.
She tells Toby she has to go home and has to rush home, but he goes through with it, without her consent.
Viewers see Ntswaki rushing home without saying goodbye to her boyfriend. She isn’t cheerful as before and sobs hysterically.
Her aunt, Mapitsi who is a journalist follows her to her bedroom and figures out that she was raped when Ntswaki insists on taking a shower.
Mapitsi (Mogau Motlhatswi) and Meikie (Florence Masebe) rush her to the hospital to get her tested and to get a rape kit.
Viewers of the show are demanding for Toby to get arrested for rape and are defending Ntswaki who lied to him about her age.

@MelaninSneziey: “In actually facts, they were both wrong in this Acrimony. Ntswaki for all the lies that may have made Toby think that they’re mates. Toby was wrong because Ntswaki said she wants to go home. He then persuaded a kiss and because of intoxication she became reluctant.”

And South Africa woman about being clear open and assertive when they don’t want something. The sequence of events is crazy, and I don’t think Tobby intentionally wanted to rape her.”

SICELO BUTHELEZI AS TOBY
The fan-favourite actor Sicelo Buthelezi secured the role of Tobias “Toby” Maswahla in Skeem Saam this March.
Buthelezi tells TshisaLIVE that joining the SABC1 soapie has been amazing and he’s enjoying it.
“Having joined the Skeem Saam family has been amazing. It’s a different environment but it feels like home. I’m enjoying it.”
Buthelezi made his debut on Tuesday, 2 April as university student, Tobias who got expelled at a Johannesburg university. He moved to Turfloop to live with his mother, Evelyn Maswahla (Vele Manenje).
TVSA reports that Skeem Saam marks Buthelezi’s third TV role after his roles in Gomora and Now and Never.
Buthelezi portrayed the teenage character of Teddy in Gomora for four seasons in the Mzansi Magic telenovela.
On the show, his character struggled with reading and memory because his mother (Zodwa) drank while she was pregnant with him.
He first appeared in the premiere in March 2020 and won the award for Outstanding Newcomer at the fourth Royalty Soapie Awards.
