Golf: Dancunson,Nyareru win NCBA Series leg at Karen

Home player Douglas Duncanson emerged as the winner of the seventh leg of the ongoing NCBA Golf Series at the Karen Country Club.

Duncanson posted 41 points to beat a field of  191 that participated in the leg.

He was closely followed by Robert Keter, who secured the runner-up position with 39 points.

The Division One Ladies Category saw Sarah Nyareru take the top spot with 40 points. Hazel Kuria finished as the first  runner-up, scoring 36 points.

Ezekiel Owuor triumphed in the Division Two Men category with an outstanding 45 points. In the Division Two Ladies Category, Jennifer Murigu secured victory with 38 points.

Wahu Nyairo emerged as the winner of the Division Three category with 36 points.

Meanwhile, in the Junior Category, Wanjiku Mathu claimed the top position, with 36 points while the Staff Category saw Daniel Chege emerge victorious after a countback, finishing with 37 points.

Speaking during the event, NCBA Group Director of Retail Banking Tirus Mwithiga said: 

“We are thrilled with the turnout and the level of competition we witnessed today. The growth of the NCBA Golf Series over the years has been remarkable, and it is a testament to our commitment to supporting sports and community development,” he said.

“We believe in the power of sports to bring people together and inspire greatness, and the NCBA Golf Series embodies this spirit. We look forward to the next leg of the series and to seeing more incredible performances.” He added.

Top finishers across the four categories secured their slots at the Series grand finale scheduled later this year .
