“Inacio is a very good defender, he has lots of experience, he played in Romania, Portugal, he played in the CAF Champions League, you saw him in the games against Sundowns, he had a very good performance,” – Hugo Marques told IDiski Times.

“He’s going to add bravery and quality to Kaizer Chiefs, because they need a guy who leads the defence there you know. I hope he succeeds because he’s a very good guy, very good player, very good human.”

Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler says Hugo Marques told them that he had family issues in Portugal that he needed to deal with. They were shocked to see him sign for Petro de Luanda in Angola this week. Tinkler says he was disappointed that there was no honesty from Hugo. pic.twitter.com/vMynjWFILc

Kaizer Chiefs look set enter the new season with just two ‘trusted’ goalkeepers!

This comes after first team goalkeeper Brandon Petersen suffered an injury during their pre-season preparations.

New signing Fiacre Ntwari looks set to be thrown into the deep end alongside Bruce Bvuma.

Kaizer Chiefs are yet to take a final decision on veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and with reports suggesting Petersen will miss around 10 matches, the club may be forced to keep Khune around as a back-up!

Another Kaizer Chiefs star suffers injury

“Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has been sidelined due to a finger injury, casting a shadow over the start of the Betway Premiership season for the Amakhosi,” – a FARPost report read.

“The exact nature of the injury remains unclear, but it occurred during pre-season training and has kept Petersen sidelined in recent matches.”

Petersen joins Tebogo Potsane, George Matlou and Mduduzi Mdantsane who are all currently out injured.

The good news however is that Dillon Solomons is on the mend. The speedy winger is back on the green grass after being sidelined with a serious shoulder injury.

Peterson is a good keeper kept chiefs from humalation in many occasions. His wonderful saves are not recognized becos whole team is not performing not winning , scoring goals. A good coach won’t drop him will try find a way of scoring and store wining mentality #khosifield ✌️💯 pic.twitter.com/NEuF5Xhyqo
