‘The Penguin’: Where to watch HBO show in South Africa
DC Comics fans are in for a treat as fantasy-crime drama, The Penguin will land on South African screens express from the US.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT ‘THE PENGUIN’
The Penguin stars Academy Award Nominee Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka The Penguin). The series, which releases in form of eight episodes, continues the epic crime saga that filmmaker Matt Reeves began with the global blockbuster The Batman.
The Penguin delves deep into the master manipulator’s character and explores his transformation from a low-level criminal into one of Gotham’s most feared crime lords.
“It was a long and really wonderful experience. It’s dark; that’s what I can tell you about it. It’s really dark. It’s really heavy, I think—it certainly was while doing it. Which is not to say I didn’t have fun; I had an amazing time doing it. It’s incredibly violent. It’s one man’s rise to what he’s always dreamed of inhabiting, which is a certain power or social status,” Farrell said to Variety.
The series is created by Matt Reeves and Lauren LeFranc, who bring a fresh and thrilling perspective to the Batman universe.
