American rapper, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has reportedly been placed on a suicide watch as he anticipates trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.
Sean Diddy, on Wednesday, made a court appearance, requesting a $50 million bail package to avoid detention at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Centre, however, the judge rejected the proposal.
He has now been on suicide watch according to PEOPLE as a “preventative measure”, thereby following the court proceedings to the latter.
His legal representatives on Wednesday argued that he was not dangerous, but the judge was not convinced.
However, the prosecution presented alleged text messages from Diddy to his ex, Cassie Ventura, upon the 2016 incident, to support their argument for continued detention.
“Call me, the cops are here. I got six kids. You, please call. I’m surrounded. You gonna abandon me all alone,” Diddy was quoted as saying.
The defendant entered a not-guilty plea to charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution, asserting his innocence.
