The unveiling event, held at the Ghana Football Association headquarters in Accra, symbolised the growth and importance of womens football in the country.The new trophy, locally designed, prominently features a “W” emblem, representing “Womens Football.” Embellished with sparkling gold, the design reflects the strength, hope, and progress that have come to define the Womens Premier League in Ghana.The trophys symbolic design is intended to inspire players and teams across the league, emphasising the growing stature of womens football.The unveiling was a grand spectacle, with former players like Fafali Dumehasi and Romanatu Tahiru, as well as players from the Immigration, Prisons, Army, and Police Service football teams, proudly marching the trophy to the main stage.Their involvement underscored the shared pride and commitment to womens football in Ghana, as stakeholders watched in admiration.The presentation of the new trophy also signalled the beginning of the 2024/2025 league season.Anticipation is building as fans and analysts alike begin to speculate which team will be the first to lift the stunning new trophy.With a competitive lineup of teams from both the Northern and Southern Zones, the upcoming season promises to be one filled with excitement and fierce competition.The Malta Guinness Womens Premier League is set to kick off during the weekend of Friday, October 18th, to Monday, October 21st, 2024, with matches taking place across the two zones.
