Will Manie Libbok return before the New Year? LATEST UPDATE

Stormers fly-half Manie Libbok was stretchered off the field following a horrific red card tackle by Toulon substitute Yannick Youyoutte.

“Manie is very bad,” confirmed Stormers coach John Dobson after the game.

“If you look at the nature of the injuries … we’re not doing soft tissue injuries, it’s trauma injuries. It’s a bit like frogs in the pot – when you look up and it’s suddenly boiling you realise all those guys are out, and it’s tough.”

The only good news surrounding Libbok’s head injury was that he joined the Stormers on their flight back to the Mother City following their 24-14 loss.

It’s unlikely that the World Cup winner will feature again in 2024 with a final decision pending in over ten days’ time when he and teammate Ben-Jason Dixon are reassessed as per HIA protocols.

Pollard’s future uncertain

“I have no idea,” was Handré Pollards answer when asked on BBC Radio Leicester about where he will play next season.

“I can tell you the truth,” he continued. “I do not know yet what I’m doing or where I’m going. I’m just happy being at Leicester and I will enjoy every minute I have here,

“I’m really enjoying playing and all the boys, everyone, is enjoying it, and you can’t underestimate how important that is.

“We have to play hard and be on it every week, but the enjoyment element of it is so important in a rugby group in a long season like we have these days.”
