‘Who are the right ones that must be killed?’: Tweeps question Malema

Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema is catching smoke over his comments on Hillary Gardee’s death and killers.

Malema and other party members visited the Gardee family in Nelspruit on Wednesday after the body of the party’s former secretary-general Godrich Gardee’s daughter was found this week. Malema said the suspects “took the wrong one this time” referring to Hillary.

Addressing the media after their visit, Julius Malema said Police Minister, Bheki Cele should make sure that they find Hillary’s killers before the EFF does.

“We want to teach them a lesson that they will never forget for the rest of their lives because they took the wrong one this time around.

“Anyone who touches our children touches us and they don’t want to see the ugly side of the EFF. They invited it and we shall show them that ugly side of the EFF. One thing is for sure, we will find them. They will know who we are when we’ve found them, too. As EFF, we have committed to the Gardee family to find the killers. Bheki Cele must find them before us because we can’t give him any guarantees.”

The police better find whoever murdered Hillary because if we get them first, we’ll teach them a lesson. #RIPHillaryGardee pic.twitter.com/WAQZarSp4n

Juju’s comments did not sit well with a number of South Africans. Many took to social media to question him saying his statement implies that it was okay for other women to be killed before the same happened to Hillary Gardee.

“Malema says the killers of Gardee’s daughter  made a mistake by killing a wrong one.  Who are the right  ones who must be killed and wrong ones who must not be killed? I find  it shocking  that he can utter such a statement.  My view is that any murderer is wrong,” @LebeaPompe tweeted.

“According to Julius Malema, all along they were killing the right ones? Or I misunderstood what he said?” @Mshunqiseni tweeted too.

Julius Malema said”this time they took the wrong one” while addrssing the media following the murder of #HillaryGardee As sad as this is,he needs to knw tht crime knows no status.we all equal. Maybe putting pressure of the government to protect all women n children is much better
