Weather: Thunderstorms predicted this weekend in several provinces
The South African Weather Service has warned of severe thunderstorms in parts of KwaZulu-Natal this weekend.
As a result, a Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for severe thunderstorms.
“Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds, excessive lightning, large amounts of small hail, and heavy downpours are expected over the central and western parts of KwaZulu-Natal,” said the SA weather service.
For Gauteng, partly cloudy and warm conditions are expected throughout Saturday with a small chance of rain. Sunday however severe thunderstorms are predicted during the day. Isolated showers and thundershowers are anticipated on Saturday afternoon in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
For Saturday, Johannesburg will reach a high of 25 with isolated thundershowers in the early evening.

The Western Cape will experience fine and warm to hot weather in the interior, while coastal areas will be partly cloudy and cool to warm. The Eastern Cape will experience hot temperatures this weekend as a result of a heatwave.
Residents should take the necessary precautions against prolonged sun exposure.
From Monday, Gauteng will experience warm and sunny conditions with no rain predicted. The rest of the country will experience fine and warm weather conditions.
