We need to build on positives from WAFU B Championship for U20 AFCON – Desmond Ofei

Desmond OfeiThe head coach of Ghanas U20 male national team, the Black Satellites, has stressed the need to build on the positives from the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship. The Black Satellites finished second in the just-concluded tournament in Togo after losing 2-1 in the final to rivals Nigeria.Despite the defeat, Ghana had already qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations by reaching the final.”If you arrive in a final, you want to win the final, but it didn’t happen. Like I said before, we have to build on the positives and correct our mistakes [ahead of the 2025 U20 AFCON], Ofei said.We have a lot of talent in the country, including players who also play in the second tier in Ghana. In terms of talent, we had like six, seven, or eight players from the second division, which shows the quality we have in the country. The date for the 2025 U20 AFCON has yet to be announced, but the Black Satellites are set to continue their preparations for the tournament.
