BEACHGOERS STUNNED AFTER HELICOPTER PLUNGES INTO OCEAN
Just seconds after the helicopter crashed into the ocean, nearby jet skis powered over to help those injured and boats were soon also at the scene. For now, it isn’t clear whether the helicopter was a commercial or public aircraft nor do authorities know about what led to the accident in the first place. But it has been learnt that the Federal Aviation Authority is set to launch an investigation into the incident.
Jaw-dropping footage shows the exact moment of the accident: The helicopter descends quite rapidly from the sky and plunges into the crystal-clear blue waters which are packed with hundreds of swimmers and families playing in the blistering sunshine.
A witness described what he saw to Local 10 News, saying: “The whole beach ran to the scene. Probably ten guys pulling the skid down so it didn’t collapse, because it was sitting on the blade. When the blade snapped, the helicopter started going over, so while we are pulling the skid down, two guys were inside pulling the passengers out.”
