Voters offered opportunity to check details one more time

Registered voters would from today to Saturday have the opportunity to check their details online and to report any form of discrepancies to the Electoral Commission (EC).

The opportunity for the checking of details and reporting of discrepancies was announced by the EC in a press statement issued and signed by the Deputy Chairman, Operations, Mr Samuel Tettey, and copied The Ghanaian Times yesterday.

According to the EC, the decision to offer registered voters the opportunity to check their details and report discrepancies followed an assurance it gave during the Special IPAC meeting held on October 1, 2024, to re-exhibit the revised Provisional Voters Register (PVR) online.

Also, the EC indicated in the statement that registered voters could check their details via short code *711*51# without any charges on its website.

“The Electoral Commission wishes to announce for the information of the general public, registered voters and all stakeholders, that the re-exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register (PVR) will commence on Tuesday, October 15 and end on Saturday, October 19, 2024,” the statement said.

“The public may recall that during the Special IPAC meeting held on October 1, 2024, the Commission assured the public that the revised PVR will be re-exhibited online for registered voters to check their details and report any discrepancies to the Commission for correction,” the statement added.

The EC, through the statement, urged the registered voters to report any discrepancy identified to the district offices of the Commission where they registered for the necessary corrections to be made.

The statement indicated that registered voters would still have the opportunity to check their details online at the end of the re-exhibition, but they could not request corrections.

It also said that political parties were required to use the template provided by the EC to submit any discrepancies identified during the re-exhibition period.

“The public should note that any discrepancies identified must be reported to the District Office of the Commission where they are registered voters for correction. Once the re-exhibition exercise ends on Saturday, October 19, voters will still be able to check their details but cannot call for corrections of their details,” the statement said.
