Volta and Ashanti Stars shine at U17 Colts Championship

The 2024 KGL Foundation Inter-Regional U17 Colts Championship continued to produce exciting moments on its second day.

Volta Region’s Setsoafia Junior Akwetey was named Man of the Match after a standout performance in their 3-0 victory over Central Region. His 25-yard thunderbolt was the highlight of the game.

Meanwhile, Ashanti Region’s Eric Adu Gyamfi claimed the MVP award for his crucial role in their 4-1 win over Bono Ahafo Region.

The tournament continues on Saturday with Greater Accra facing Upper East and Eastern taking on Upper West. The championship, which runs until August 8, aims to unearth young talent for Ghana’s national teams and has been a platform for many players to secure professional contracts.
