Victim’s jean jacket leads to arrest of robbery suspects

Police in Osun have arrested two suspected armed robbers after attacking motorists on Ilesa-Ife Expressway.

The suspects, Hammed Abiodun, 19, and Godwin John, 35, were paraded at police headquarters on Wednesday evening.

Police said the suspects also robbed near a bank in Ile-Ife where one of their victims recognised them and raised the alarm.

Commissioner of Police Olawale Olokode said, “One of the armed robbers collected a jean jacket worn by a bus driver during one of their attacks. The following day, he wore it and was sighted around a bank in Ile-Ife, and the driver raised the alarm and two of them who were together were arrested.”
