Upper West: Wa residents threaten to ban politicians over recent murders

Some residents of Wa in the Upper West regional capital are threatening to ban politicians from campaigning in the area if urgent action is not taken to halt the killings of innocent citizens in the area.

The threat comes after another person was found murdered in the early hours of Monday, July 15, 2024.

The deceased, believed to be in his late thirties was a driver’s mate and was found killed by the truck he followed to discharge goods at a warehouse.

Some of the residents who spoke to Channel One News say they are living in constant fear due to the killings and are unwilling to entertain any politician until a solution is found to the menace.

The latest killing brings to 14, the number of victims who have been brutally murdered by a suspected syndicate that has been operating in the Wa town since 2022.
