Vipers Sports Club duo in coach Roberto Oliviera and striker Cesar Manzoki had a clean sweep of Pilsner Uganda Premier League awards after their impressive statistics for the previous month of December 2021.
Making his third straight appearance on the podium, “Robertinho” finally took home the best coach’s gong having beat competition from Wasswa Bbosa (Express) and Alex Isabirye Musongola (BUL FC).
The Brazilian guided the Venoms to four wins and one draw in the five games played accumulating a point tally 13 of a possible 15 which saw the Kitende outfit sit on top of the log after match-day 13.
“I thank Uganda Premier League for this, it’s very important for me and I thank my players. I know very well what the players want, the mentality of players who are young and Uganda has very good talent and I congratulate Ceazer,” said Roberto who has been on the waiting list since October last year.
Whereas the Congolese striker Manzoki Loro put up an astonishing display managing five league goals in the five games and scooping two Pilsner man of the match awards.
Manzoki beat the stiff competition from Bidco Uganda Limited (BUL FC)’s talisman Nsimbe Ibrahim and attacking midfielder Juma Balinya (Police FC) who scored the same number of goals.
Both Robertinho and Manzoki walked away with One million Ugandan shillings (Shs 1,000,000) as prize money along with an accolade during Thursday’s awarding ceremony at Kati Kati restaurant in Lugogo.
In the fans category, Trevor Mark Lutwama and Herman Nyanja tied on 28 points having had the same number of correct predicted scores in December. They shared Shs 500,000 each taking home Shs 250,000.
