Rapper Cassper Nyovest has once again paid tribute to his former friend Riky Rick, just days before the star is laid to rest.
Riky, whose full name was Rikhado Muziwendlovu Makhado, died at age 34 on Wednesday, 23 February. The cause of death is yet to be revealed and the Rakhado family has asked for privacy as it comes to terms with his death.
Cassper Nyovest and Riky Rick were once thick as thieves but then had a fall out which played out in public and have never reconciled. Cassper would go on to say in a previous interview that he wasn’t ready to repair their broken friendship.
Riky Rick’s funeral will be held in a private family service in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 1 March 2022.
‘I THOUGHT WE HAD TIME’: CASSPER NYOVEST
Cassper recently took to Twitter to share a video clip of one of his live performances of a song featuring Riky Rick and accompanied it with a caption, which in part said: “I thought we had time, I can’t say I don’t regret wasting it but I have to come to terms with it at some point. Until we meet again , we gone stay shinning!!!”
Depending on who you ask, this tribute is far better than the last one he posted on the social media app, which sparked some backlash.
Taking to both Instagram and Twitter, Cassper had shared an old picture of Riky Rick embracing him. The picture was supposedly taken during a media interview with Cass.
He wrote in the caption: “As a man, I am very uncomfortable with another man touching me or worse, being behind me. So when Riky creeped up behind me in the middle of an interview, what I really wanna do is turn around and ask ‘Which one is this one now’ lol… But when I heard his voice I chilled”.
