Two new strikers for Kaizer Chiefs: One could be from Pirates?

Kaizer Chiefs are set for a blockbuster upcoming January transfer window!

The Glamour Boys have endured a stuttering first half of the season, with fans growing increasingly frustrated.

Despite landing a headline head coach in Nasreddine Nabi, Kaizer Chiefs are yet to show signs of coming out of their downward spiral.

And now, management are plotting some big moves to give coach Nabi the tools he believes he needs to get the club back on track!

Chiefs have been linked with two big name strikers during recent days, one of which being Nabi’s top transfer target Fiston Mayele.

And now, according to club legend Brian Baloyi, Chiefs need to go all out and sign out-of-favour Orlando Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa.

Kaizer Chiefs urged to sign Lepasa

“There’s a certain player at Orlando Pirates who is not playing,” Baloyi told Metro FM as quoted by IDiski Times in reference to Zakhele Lepasa.

“Tell who is better than him at Kaizer Chiefs. He is a Bafana player, when he plays he’s in Broos’ squad. Tell me who is better at Chiefs than him right now, as a striker.”

Chiefs to break the bank for Mayele?

“After the TS Galaxy game, there was the usual post match meeting and that is when all the parties agreed that they have to go for Mayele again,” an insider told Soccer Laduma regarding Kaizer Chiefs’ transfer plans.

“That’s why management and the board agreed that they would raise the bid for Mayele to R20m and hope Pyramids, who have been looking for between R22m to R25m, will be soft on them this time around.”

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs have reportedly tabled a bumper three-year new contract offer for one of their prized attackers.

Mduduzi Shabalala has made 11 starts for the Glamour Boys this season under Nasreddine Nabi.

Shabalala has scored three goals while assisting two more and now, according to the latest reports, a contract extension looms for the 20-year-old.

Shabalala set to remain at Kaizer Chiefs until at least 2028

“The club is making sure they keep almost all their valued youngsters because in the past Kaizer Chiefs have lost some of them to rivals and that’s why they have offered Mdu (Shabalala) another three-year contract,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

“You remember he signed a three-year contract in June 2022 until June 2025? And the one the club has tabled now will take his stay at Naturena until at least June 2028. That’s what the club is looking at.”
