Three suspected gangsters shot dead in Nairobi’s Kariobangi estate

Three suspected gangsters were last night shot dead at Kwa Mbao area in the city’s Kariobangi estate as the crackdown on organised criminal gangs intensify.

The three were shot dead after they defied a police order to surrender, instead engaging the officers in a fierce shoot out.

Two pistols, rounds of ammunition, spent cartridges, and an unregistered motor cycle were recovered from the suspects.

Police are in the hunt for one of the accomplices who managed to escape the police operation.

According to detectives, the gang of four has been captured on camera committing various robberies in past.

Two months ago, a University student is said to have lost his life in the hands of the gangsters within the city’s Buruburu estate.

In another incident, the four are believed to have robbed valuables from customers and later ransacked a business premise where they carted away electronic gadgets.
