Three men were attacked by a swarm of bees in Rooihuiskraal, Tshwane on Wednesday morning, 26 January. They were reportedly working in the garden when the incident took place.
THREE MEN HOSPITALISED
ER24 said its paramedics arrived at the scene at 11:35 on Wednesday morning.
The three men were sitting on the pavement and were being treated by a different emergency service.
“Medics assessed the men and found that they had all sustained numerous stings,” said ER24.
The three men were hospitalised after being treated at the scene of the attack. “It is understood that the three men had been working in the garden when the bees attacked,” said ER24.
A similar incident took place in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal earlier this month.
Six people were cutting the grass when they disturbed a beehive, which prompted an attack.
In that case, the injuries were more severe – two patients were left in a critical condition.
“A total of six people were stung with two of them being critical and requiring advanced life support intervention,” said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Paul Herbst.
