Ghana U20 head coach, Desmond Ofei, has highlighted the wealth of talent across the country following his teams impressive second-place finish at the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship.Ofei revealed that at least six players from his squad play in Ghana’s second-tier National Division One League, showcasing the depth of talent available to the Black Satellites.The team’s runners-up position at the WAFU B U20 Championship earned them a spot in the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.We have a lot of talent in the country, including players who also play in the second tier in Ghana, Desmond Ofei said.In terms of talent, we had like six, seven, or eight players from the second division, which shows the quality we have in the country.Notably, only seven players from the Black Satellites team that won the 2023 African Games in Ghana were part of the squad for the WAFU B U20 Championship.While the exact dates for the 2025 U20 AFCON have yet to be confirmed, the Black Satellites are already gearing up for the tournament and will continue their preparations in the coming months.
