Tems finally gets her Grammy Award plaque

Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, known by her stage name Tems, has at long last received her Grammy plaque.
Recall that at the 65th Grammy Awards on February 6, 2023, Tems won the Best Melodica Rap Performance Grammy for her work on Future’s song “Wait For U,” which also features Drake.
The singer’s manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, reported on social media that the plaque had arrived on Friday night.
On the strength of this prestigious accomplishment, the tall singer made history by becoming the first female musician from Nigeria to be nominated for and win a Grammy.
In the Best Global Performance category last year, she was nominated for her collaboration with Wizkid on the blockbuster song “Essence,” but Pakistan’s Arooj Aftab won.
