The immediate past chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, in Osun State, Mr Adewale Adebayo has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop the vindictive neglect of infrastructure project, especially the N2.7billion Olaiya flyover.

The flyover was built by the administration of Gboyega Oyetola with surrounding green areas, as well as a water fountain and lighting to make the area aesthetic.

Adebayo, who is the State Chairman of the Allied People Movement, APM, on Thursday while addressing newsmen in Osogbo lamented the neglect the flyover environment has suffered paving the way for vandals to plough it.

He said, “Since the administration of Adeleke came on board, they drafted security men around the bridge, exposing it to vandals and also leaving the green areas to outgrow weeds.

“The various aesthetic features like fountains, lightings, street lights, metal railing at green area among others are not maintained while vandals took the opportunity to plunder the facilities.”

He urged Adeleke’s government to embrace all infrastructures by the past administrations not take them without prejudice against his political enemy.

Reacting, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi described the allegation as unfounded, saying the present administration is erecting street lights up till the Olaiya flyover area.

He added that Adeleke’s administration is not known for abandoning projects but ensuring the completion of ones initiated by his predecessors as witnessed in various parts of the state.
