SPOTTED: Bafana Bafana star arrives at Kaizer Chiefs!

Kaizer Chiefs are looking to add some firepower to their striking department ahead of next season, with movement happening!

Chiefs look to be pressing ahead with their club targets, while they wait to announce their new coach.

If widespread reports are to be believed, Chiefs are set to announce Nasreddine Nabi as their coach. If his history is anything to go by, he is expected to bring a wealth of attacking impetus to the Amakhosi side. This will be very welcomed by their fans, who have seen their side struggle to score, or even create. This despite adding the likes of Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley du Preez, Jasond Gonzalez, Christian Saile and Caleb Bimenyimana in two seasons.

Chiefs looking to bolster their attack

Bimenyimana was released by the club at the start of the season. Saile, who was believed to have been skating on thin ice, was given another chance. New strikers Chivaviro and Gonzalez scored just four goals between them, none coming from the Colombian. Saile was able to produce flashes with four. Du Preez top scored among the group with six.

With none of those numbers promising nor being the standard that Chiefs require, their pursuit of another striker is no surprise. They have been linked with Lebo Mothiba, Andy Boyeli as well Iqraam Rayners. Two weeks ago, Mothiba was believed to be a target, who then came out and dismissed the opportunity of playing locally.

It is believed that Mamelodi Sundowns were favourites to sign Mothiba over Chiefs. But now, in an interesting development, the Bafana Bafana striker has reportedly been spotted entering the Naturena offices on Friday!

Mothiba spotted at Naturena

FARPost can confirm Lebo Mothiba was at the village earlier on Friday. The 28-year-old is a free agent following the end of his contract with Ligue 1 side Racing Strasbourg. Mothiba, who missed the 2023 AFCON due to injury, spent six years at the French side. As he embarks on his search for a new club, speculation is mounting that he may have engaged in discussions with the Chiefs’ leadership about a potential move.” Wrote FARPost.

It remains to be seen if Chiefs are trying to lure Mothiba, who would be top signing for them.
