This ROBOT is now performing major surgeries – in one of Gauteng’s biggest hospitals!

Imagine a robot being used to perform two of the most common surgeries known to improve mobility.

While this isn’t the first ever, the Netcare Pretoria East hospital is breaking ground by being the first in Pretoria to use the state of the art robotic surgical system, known as the Mako robotics, to perform hip and knee replacements.

Orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Wian van der Merwe explained that the Mako robotic system is designed to further improve surgical precision.

WATCH: Passenger LANDS plane after pilot falls ill mid-flight

Aviation authorities in the United States (US) are investigating an incident involving an unidentified man who managed to land a plane all on his own after his pilot passed out.

According to reports, the mystery man can be heard in public flight recordings telling the air traffic controller: “I’ve got a serious situation here. My pilot has gone incoherent. I have no idea how to fly the airplane, but I’m maintaining at 9100,”

When asked about his position, the man said he didn’t know but that he could see the Florida coastline.

Halala! Google Translate adds these TWO official SA languages

Google Translate announced that 24 new languages would be added to its application and two of these are from South Africa.

Google announced that it has added 24 new languages to its online feature including Sepedi and Tsonga. According to Google, Sepedi is spoken by approximately 14 million people in South Africa.

Njabulo Magudulela lives just a few minutes away from Hillary Gardee’s former residence. He had been out drinking on the night of her disappearance, and police were allegedly led to believe he had something to do with the woman’s brutal murder.
