A Proudly South African Cookbook

According to CNA’s website Dinner At Somizi’s – I Am Not A Chef is inspired by his family’s cooking and celebrates food that is proudly South African. Somizi describes the recipes in this book as a combination of the food he grew up eating as a young black queer boy in Soweto and those he discovered as a pioneering adult with an illustrious life and career.

Somizi’s cooking show

Earlier this year it was reported that Somizi’s new cooking show, Dinner at Somizi’s, had been picked up by DStv’s 1 Magic. But, social media met the news by calling for fresh new faces also to be given a chance, with many calling for the South African entertainment industry to be opened up.
