Siya Kolisi heads back to family church – without Rachel
Siya Kolisi has openly spoken about his Christian faith and how he is relying on it during his public divorce from his wife, Rachel.
On Sunday, 1 December, the Springboks captain shared a look at his return to his Durban church after playing abroad for almost a year.
The church was once the family home to the couple, who sadly split a month ago.
SIYA KOLISI GOES TO CHURCH – WITHOUT WIFE RACHEL
On Sunday, Siya Kolisi revealed his dedication to continuing to attend church despite his turbulent personal life.
The Springboks and Sharks player, who played for Racing 92 for almost a year, returned to his Christian home at Rivers Church in Ballito.
In a picture posted on his Instagram Stories, Siya shared a snapshot of a sign that read, “Jesus, light of the world.”
In July last year, the couple bid farewell to the church after Siya revealed he would be leaving his Durban club for a French one.
However, Siya’s contract was short-lived, and he returned to his Durban home a year later.
At the time, Rachel revealed that the couple had enjoyed the services as a couple together.
“We will miss it here”, she posted.
WHERE IS THE REST OF HIS FAMILY?
While Siya Kolisi was up bright and early for church service, the rest of his family – soon-to-be ex-wife Rachel, their two children, and his siblings Liphelo and Liyema are based in their Cape Town home.
This means that the family is living apart amid their separation, and Siya is playing in another province.
Over the weekend, Siya Kolisi also missed another special occasion – his daughter Keziah’s 7th birthday party. The rugby star played a game against the Stormers at Kings Park Stadium.
A week earlier, Keziah celebrated her actual birthday when Siya was playing away against Wales in the Springboks final test match of 2024.
