Sim Dope: Who are the Gumede brothers? [photos]

Sim Dope – real name Simphiwe Gumede – comes from one of the wealthiest families in South Africa. Despite their fortune, the childhood friend of AKA chooses to live a low-key life out of the spotlight.

Simphiwe is one of seven children fathered by IT business tycoon Robert Gumede. He’s also the inspiration behind AKA’s hit track named after him.

SIM DOPE: WHO ARE HIS BROTHERS?

Simphiwe is one of three good-looking Gumede brothers fathered by Robert and his first wife, Zongi Gumede. The former couple also have an older daughter named Roberta.

Unlike his other brothers, Simphiwe is not an eligible bachelor. The young businessman is married to Tshego. The fiercely private couple have two children together.

Mantana Robert Junior

The youngest of the trio, Robert Junior, is the flashiest of the brothers.

Robert posts up a storm of his luxurious lifestyle, including multi-million rand cars, private jets and designer clothes.

SIBLINGS AND STEPMOM

Sim Dope’s father, Robert is married to his second wife, Portia Mkhize. They have three children; son Keni and daughters Natana and Matana.

The couple married in a glitzy ceremony in 2010, MC’d by comedian Trevor Noah. Guests included ministers, foreign presidents, and prominent business people.
