Shock as Zebra Sennyange, Uganda’s National Boxing Team Coach, is Gunned Down in Kampala

The Boxing fraternity has on Wednesday morning been hit by the shocking news of the murder of former National Team player Zebra Isaac Ssennyange commonly known as “Mando”.

Sennyange, a great supporter and mobiliser of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), met his death in the wee hours of Wednesday morning when yet-to-be identified gunmen murdered him in cold blood.

The assailants opened fire at Sennyange as his wife Mercy Mukankusi and their only son Isaac Sennyange Junior looked on in shock.

ChimpReports understands that the murder happened around 1:00am this morning in Bwaise, a Kampala suburb.

According to his son Sennyange Junior, “unknown hooded gunmen came in a drone vehicle, knocked my father’s house and shot him dead.”

He recalled that one of the shooters urged his wife to “be strong.

Security agencies have started investigating the motive behind Sennyange’s shocking murder.

At the time of his death, Sennyange was actively mobilizing boxers and body builders known as Kanyamas to support the ruling NRM party in Kawempe.

Isaac Ssennyange commonly known as “Mando” is dead

Ssenyange is a former national team captain who is best remembered for having led the Bombers to the 10th All Africa Games hosted in Maputo city, Mozambique in 2011.

“Mando” has been employed by the Uganda Boxing Federation (UBF) in-charge of general duties as he and doubled as the Bombers’ Coach, mamager and coordinated his own Zebra Boxing Club.

The body of the deceased is said to have been taken to Mulago Hospital for postmortem studies as the hunt for the assilants commenced.
