‘She still has my full support’: Sonia Mbele on son Donell’s ex


Sonia Mbele has expressed her love and full support for Reokeditswe Makete after she accused her son, Donell Mbele, of physically abusing her and almost raping her.

In light of the allegations, the actress and TV producer released a statement in which she opened up about suffering many forms of abuse at the hands of a man she was involved with from the age of 17 to 26.

In her statement, the producer of the Real Housewives franchise said that the law must take its course in the abuse allegations against her son.

The former Diep City actress expressed that as an abuse survivor herself, she does not support or condone the criminal act.

In addition, Sonia Mbele reassured Reokeditswe that she supports her and will continue to do so.

“I not only welcomed Reokeditswe Makete into my home but I treated her as a daughter and worked with her in support of her career in the entertainment industry, and right now I would like to reassure her that she still has my love and full support.”

The highlighted that her Donell will account for his actions because she “refuses to raise a man like his father”.

“With that said Donell will face his demons and take accountability for his actions and let the law take its course. I refuse to raise a man like his father. Rehab, therapy and internal healing will prevail,” Sonia mbele wrote in part.

On Tuesday, 22 November, the 21-year-old woman named took to Instagram to allege that Donell — who had an acting role on the defunked Generations as Prince Moroka — physically abused her and almost raped her.

Reokeditswe detailed the alleged abuse on her Instagram stories, saying that he abused her on four different occasions and on the fifth she decided to out him.

The alleged victim expressed that she protected her ex because he is Sonia Mbele’s son.

“But after today, he hit me, suffocated me and dragged me around his house, then laughed in my face. I realised this man isn’t going to change and the man I feel in love with, just doesn’t exist anymore.

The 21-year-old shared pictures of her bruised face, and a conversation she claimed to be between her and Donell where he admits to abusing her and almost raping her.
