‘She didn’t take anything’: Tendai Ndoro sets record straight on Maseko divorce

Former Orlando Pirates talisman Tendai Ndoro is making headlines due to his recent interview with seasoned iDiski Times journalist Lorenz Kohler.

This is one of the few interviews Tendai Ndoro has given over the years after his long illness, which took a toll on his career.

FORMER ORLANDO PIRATES STAR’S WOES

Tendai Ndoro’s goalscoring ability and flair earned him the nickname ‘Fire 7.’ At the peak of his illustrious career, the Zimbabwean-born star left Orlando Pirates for Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Faisal in 2017.

Against the backdrop of his move, reports revealed that Tendai Ndoro was one of the highest-paid African stars. However, at the time, the former Orlando Pirates star did not openly confirm the news.

However, during his recent interview, Tendai Ndoro opened up about his ‘breakthrough’ contract in Saudi Arabia.

The football star said he was pocketing $6000 weekly, which amounts to ‘R434 654 a month.’

Tendai Ndoro made it known that he was earning cash and would send the money home where he was investing. He said that the huge payout saw him getting married without a hustle.

However, despite the big wins, everything changed in the blink of an eye.

In 2021, social media was abuzz when his frail-looking pictures at Simba Bhora training ground, a Zimbabwe Football outfit, flooded social media.

Amid his health woes, his wife, Thando Maseko, reportedly called it quits. Tendai Ndoro was later reported to be down and out.

The rumour mill claims that he lost everything to his wife since he registered all his assets in his ex-wife’s name.

‘SHE DIDN’T TAKE ANYTHING’: TENDAI NDORO SETS RECORD STRAIGHT ON MASEKO DIVORCE

However, during his recent interview, Tendai Ndoro set the record straight. He said their divorce was peaceful, and everything was done according to the book.

“To be honest, I want to clear my ex-wife (Maseko)’s name on this. Nothing of that sort happened. I didn’t lose anything, she didn’t take anything,” said Tendai Ndoro.

However, he added, “When things happen, we like to point fingers, yet we don’t know what would have happened because, with my ex-wife, we had a very peaceful divorce.

“We had asserts, it was a matter of ‘take this and I take this. She is clean, she didn’t do anything wrong.”

After all, this is not the first time Ndoro has made such remarks. He made similar remarks during an interview with South African Sports Gist.
