Saviour Baptist Church supports Becky’s Foundation
The Saviour Baptist Church of the Ghana Baptist Convention in Senya Beraku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region, over the weekend presented assorted items worth GH¢6,000 to the Becky’s Foundation (Christian Atsu Education Centre).
The donation, which formed part of the church’s 10th anniversary celebration, include non-alcoholic drinks, toiletries, gari, beans, sachet and bottled water, biscuits, tin fish, clothes and sanitary pads.
The leader of the church, Reverend Charles Kweku Sekum, presenting the donation, said it was to show love to the orphans and fulfil its social responsibility.
He promised that the church would provide more support to the orphanage.
Making reference to the scriptures, Rev. Sekum debunked the myth surrounding the adoption of orphans, saying that “the Bible highlights the importance of giving out to the needy and also adoption is a form of giving.”
Receiving the items, the founder and co-founder of Becky’s Foundation, Mr Seth Asiedu and Mrs Vivian Asiedu expressed their profound gratitude to the church for the kind gesture.
Mr Asiedu called on the citizenry to show love to orphans and the needy to enable them to become better people in society.
“Ghanaians must always remember there are kids who had been abandoned, rescued from child labour and they all need this kind of help,” Mr Asiedu said.
He appealed for more donations and contributions for Becky’s foundation and all orphanages across the country, from benevolent members of society.
