More About SASSA

The South African Social Security Agency is in charge of paying South Africa’s social grants.

However, they work with the Department of Social Development (DSD).

You can apply for grants through either the grant agency, or through Social Development. These agencies provide assistance for all South Africans, and anyone may contact them for assistance or advice.

Social workers work with the Department of Social Development to assess each report or case. However, the department also works on its own as a social grant payment system.
