Tuesday, February 8, 2022 – Nominated Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Senator, Wilson Sossion, has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of plotting to use Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to interfere with the upcoming August general election.
In an interview with Citizen TV on Tuesday, Sossion cited previous incidents where the military had taken over institutions like in Nairobi County, where General Badi took over under the Nairobi Metropolitan Service, NMS.
“The military is being mobilized to get involved in the elections. The military has been involved before in taking over Nairobi city.
“How was the military involved in taking over the Kenya Meat Commission?
“We have seen militarization before in this country,” Sossion stated.
Sossion, who is eyeing the Bomet county senatorial position under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) ticket, called on President Uhuru to allow the country to have a peaceful election without interfering with it in any way.
“We are cautioning him; you can militarise everything but don’t win elections.
“Let the elections be done according to the constitution and the activity be undertaken within the timeline and let the election be free and fair,” he said.
