Ruto: We have no apologies for donating money to the church
President William now says he has no apologies to make for donating money to the church.
Speaking in Kericho during an interdenominational church service, Ruto said he will continue giving to the church asserting his long-standing dedication to the construction of places of worship.
“We have absolutely no apologies to make as we give to God, because God gave first. We understand the word of God enough to know that it is more blessed to give than to receive, and that is what we are going to do,” said Ruto.
The President’s remarks come a week after his donation to the Soweto Catholic Church was turned down by the Nairobi Archdiocese.
The head of state affirmed his believe in giving to the church saying it was an act of faith.
“We will build our churches and work together to advance God’s word because I have personally built churches for 30 years. “I have never lacked because I know the secret of giving, and I know what it does. As William Ruto, I am a product of giving, and therefore I know what I should do,” the President stated.
Ruto further rallied Kenyans to embrace the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), which has already registered over 15 million citizens.
“SHIF is about ensuring every Kenyan has access to affordable healthcare,” he said.
His sentiments were echoed by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who urged more Kenyans to register while attending a church service in Laisamis Constituency, Marsabit County.
“I can say without fear of contradiction that the new Social Health Insurance will work and benefit the people of Kenya,” Kindiki stated.
