The Requiem service for the Late Bonchari MP John Oroo Oyioka is currently underway at The Holy Family Basilica, Nairobi.
Several dignitaries are expected to attend the requiem mass including top leaders from the Gusii community.
Oyioka passed away on February 16th the Aga Khan hospital in Kisumu after a long illness. He died at the age of 80.
The late Bonchari MP was elected to Parliament in 2013 under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
He will be laid to rest this Friday at his Bomorenda home after a funeral service at Itierio Boys High School grounds.
The burial date was arrived at after consultations with the leadership of Gusii legislators who have been meeting in Nairobi led by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi.
According to the burial organizing committee chairman Geoffrey Mogire, the funeral service will be held the same day at Iteierio High School grounds in Suneka.
The legislator has left behind his wife Teresa Bitutu Oroo and five children.
