Five-time Grammy award winner Billie Eilish released the video for her latest single, Therefore I Am, on 12 November.
The 18-year-old American singer songwriter, whose real name is Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell, describes the video which was shot overnight on an iPhone at Glendale Galleria Shopping Mall, in California, as “random, chaotic, don’t care and so fun”.
The night before the release of the video, the music sensation posted a video of herself listening to the single on her Instagram account:
‘Therefore I Am’ shot in shopping mall
The Glendale Galleria shopping mall is where she spent her early teenage years and the video was directed by the Bad Guy hitmaker herself.
The music video of Therefore I Am was shot on an iPhone with minimal sequences but is made up of a continuous shot of Eilish running through the empty Glendale Galleria shopping mall, treating herself to snacks along the way.
“The video, we number one shot on an iPhone which we didn’t even mean to do. It is basically me running through the empty Glendale Galleria eating a doughnut and a pretzel, that’s literally it. But like random, chaotic, don’t care and so fun we shot it overnight,” said Eilish in an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe.
When Lowe asked who the song was for, she yelled “nobody” and said that the song is very much up for interpretation and she is very curious to see what people get from it and what they feel when they hear it.

Taste of new album
Since the release of her 2019 debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, Eilish has rocketed to stardom, sweeping the board at the 2020 Grammys, winning five awards, including Best New Artist and Song of the Year.
Eilish has given fans a glimpse of her forthcoming album with the singles Therefore I Am and My Future.
According to the alternative rock artist, she has grown in the last two years and feels really good about her forthcoming album.
“I feel good, I’m very very happy with where I’m at in making music, I love ‘Therefore I Am’ and I love ‘My Future’, I can’t wait for people to hear this album we’re working on” said Eilish in her interview with Lowe.
She also recently shared her and her brother and collaborator Finneas’ James Bond theme song for the latest 007 film, No Time to Die.
