Prosper Ogum urges Kotoko to regroup after first defeat of the season
Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum has expressed disappointment following the teams first loss of the Ghana Premier League season, a 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities on Wednesday. The loss ended Kotokos unbeaten run and highlighted ongoing challenges with goalscoring, as the team has managed just one goal per game this season.Reflecting on the performance, Ogum admitted it had been a challenging week for the Porcupine Warriors, especially in terms of the second-half play.”Not of the best of weeks, especially the way we played the second half. It shouldnt have happened, and we just have to put ourselves together and move on,” Ogum stated. He added that losses to less-fancied opponents are common, underscoring his belief in the teams resilience: “It happens all over the world. He whos down fears no fall.Despite equalising through Albert Amoah in the 76th minute, Kotokos defence faltered in stoppage time, allowing Legon Cities Abdul Rahman to seal the win.The defeat has intensified Kotokos focus on improving their finishing, a concern Ogum addressed earlier, noting the importance of converting chances created.Kotoko, currently second in the standings, will be seeking to regroup as they prepare to host Hearts of Lions on November 3, aiming to bounce back and keep their title pursuit on track.
