Prosper Ogum defends Asante Kotokoâs shock loss to bottom-placed Legon Cities
Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has responded to criticism following the teams surprising 2-1 defeat to Legon Cities in their Ghana Premier League clash on Wednesday. The loss marked Kotokos first of the season and gave Legon Cities, who were bottom of the table with only two points, their first win of the campaign. Many frustrated Kotoko fans were disappointed by the result, questioning how the Porcupine Warriors could fall to a team struggling at the foot of the league. However, Ogum defended the outcome, noting that upsets against lower-ranked teams are common in football. “It happens all over the world. He who is down fears no fall,” he stated.Ogum admitted the loss was hard to accept, especially given the teams improved second-half play. “It is not the best way to lose, especially if you look at the way we played in the second half; it shouldn’t have happened, but then it has. We just have to put ourselves together and move on,” he added.Kotoko will aim to bounce back when they host Heart of Lions on Sunday, while Legon Cities will face Young Apostles in Accra the following day.
