Promise Fulfilled: Nugba Sports Donates Jerseys to LIYOFA FC and New Kru Town Subcommittee
Monrovia – In fulfillment of a promise made to the Liberia Football Association (LFA) New Kru Town Subcommittee and third-division team LIYOFA FC, Nugba Sports Wear Chief Executive Officer, Smith Nugba, has donated customized jerseys to both entities.

The presentation took place on Wednesday, November 20, at the D. Tweh Sports Pitch in New Kru Town. According to Mr. Nugba, the donation stems from a commitment he made in August after watching LIYOFA FC play against first-division team LISCR FC during the Borough Cup.
“I was impressed by your performance and constructive style of play. This presentation fulfills my promise to provide you with a set of jerseys,” Mr. Nugba remarked. “Whenever you wear this jersey, remember that Nugba Sports supports you. This is just the beginning; LIYOFA FC is my team. Reach out to me anytime you need help.”
In addition to the jerseys for LIYOFA FC, Nugba Sports also donated referee uniforms and jerseys to the LFA New Kru Town Subcommittee. Mr. Nugba emphasized the importance of supporting the subcommittee, which he commended for its efforts in organizing local leagues.
“When people hear about New Kru Town, they often think of criminal activities. We want to change that narrative. This community has produced some of the best footballers, sports reporters, and numerous churches in Liberia,” he said. “As a member of this borough, I’m proud to present these jerseys to the subcommittee to use during games.”
Mr. Nugba clarified that his gesture was not politically motivated, nor was he seeking to head the subcommittee. Instead, he expressed a desire to promote sports in New Kru Town and Liberia at large.
Additional Donations
Duala FC, another local team, also received a set of jerseys from Nugba Sports. Mr. Nugba explained that having played for Duala FC in the past, he felt obligated to support the team alongside other organizations.
Expressions of Gratitude
Receiving the donation on behalf of the New Kru Town Subcommittee, Chairman Emmanuel K. Davies expressed gratitude to Mr. Nugba.
“For an individual to think about the subcommittee means a lot to us,” Mr. Davies said. “This is the second time Mr. Nugba has identified with us. On behalf of LFA President Mustapha Raji, the executive committee, and the New Kru Town Subcommittee, we say thank you. I can promise you these materials will be used for their intended purpose.”
LIYOFA FC President Francis Nyenswah Doe Jr. also expressed appreciation for the donation, noting the impact it would have on the team as they prepare for the national league.
“This jersey comes at the right time. We were struggling to buy a set, and now we can redirect those funds to other needs. Your support motivates us, and I hope in the future, all teams from New Kru Town will wear your brand,” he said.
Duala FC captain Amadu Kamara also thanked Nugba Sports for supporting the team.
The donation highlights Nugba Sports’ commitment to promoting local sports and uplifting communities in Liberia.
