Prolific goalscorer hints at Kaizer Chiefs move
Kaizer Chiefs are attracting former PSL star Khanyisa Mayo.
Son of Kaizer Chiefs legend Patrick Mayo, the 26-year-old striker moved to Algeria’s Belouizdad during the offseason following an impressive spell at Cape Town City, scoring over twenty goals in his last two PSL seasons.
Having just settled in North Africa, Mayo isn’t moving anytime soon, but when he does, Kaizer Chiefs seems to be his preferred destination.
“Regarding Chiefs, yes, if I ever think about coming back home, they will be my first preference,” Mayo told KickOff.
“I see myself representing one of the top teams in the country,” Mayo said, affirming his loyalty to Kaizer Chiefs. The 24-year-old striker emphasised, “If I ever think about coming back home, they will be my first preference.” Mayo’s admiration for the club runs deep, noting that his father played for Chiefs, which strengthens his bond to the team. “It’s the biggest team in South Africa, and my dad played there,” Mayo added, hinting at the emotional connection that could guide his decision if he returns to South Africa.
