Prime suspect in gruesome Eastleigh family murders arrested

Homicide detectives have apprehended Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the prime suspect in the brutal murders of a mother, her daughter, and her 12-year-old niece.

According to the DCI, the arrest follows extensive investigations into the shocking killings that occurred on October 21, 2024.

Muhumed, 24, is believed to have transported the victims from their Eastleigh home in a Nissan Note (Reg. No. KDQ 718Y), as captured on CCTV footage.

Hours after the victims were last seen, their bodies were found scattered at various locations, prompting a swift manhunt for the suspect.

The abandoned vehicle was later recovered at Wakulima Market, near the ENA Coach stage, and towed to DCI Headquarters for forensic examination, which further connected Muhumed to the murders.

A second suspect is also in custody and is assisting with the investigation.

Muhumed is currently being processed and is set to appear before the Makadara Chief Magistrates Court Monday.

The DCI has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring justice for the victims and support for their grieving families.
