Prime suspect in female motorist assault case arrested

DCI detectives have arrested a man suspected believed to be the prime suspect behind the sexual assault of a female motorist along Wangari Maathai road.

Zachariah Nyaora Obadia who masterminded the ghastly sexual attack on a woman along Wangari Maathai road, was arrested Monday afternoon at the Kenya-Tanzania border in Sirare.

The sleuths from the elite Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau augmented by a section of detectives from Nairobi DCI Regional command, pounced on him as he tried to cross the border to Tanzania through a ‘panya’ route.

Obadia has been on the run

Zachariah Nyaora Obadia has been on the run since last week escaped the police dragnet in Mukuru Kaiyaba, through a sewer duct.

According to the DCI, the suspect has been engaging detectives in hide and seek games until his arrest.

Through digital forensics, cyber crime experts at the DCI National Forensic Laboratory placed the thug at the scene of the crime scientifically, before launching a manhunt for him.

The suspect is currently airborne to Nairobi, where he will face justice in strict conformity to the law,” said DCI boss George Kinoti.
