President Kurt Okraku wants VAR implemented in second round of Ghana Premier League
President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku is clamoring for the introduction of Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the second round of the Ghana Premier League campaign.This comes following a successful meeting with the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and the Ghana FA last week.THe two-day meeting held on Thursday and Friday saw experts from the world football governing body, Inokuchi Takaaki and Michael Bailey share expertise on the technology and procedures associated with VAR.However, Referees Manager and VAR team leader, Alex Kotey in an interview reiterated Kurt Okrakus desire for the implementing of VAR in the second half of the Ghanaian top-flight, scheduled for January 2025.Okraku is undoubtedly confident VAR will enhance officiating standards in the Ghana Premier League.Meanwhile, the Ghana FA is currently awaiting FIFAs official approval to move forward with the implementation of VAR in Ghanas domestic leagues.
