President Boakai Appoints Cllr. Jallah Barbu Executive Director of the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court
Monrovia – President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has named Clir. Jallah A. Barbu as Executive Director of the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court (WECC).
According to the Executive Mansion release, the appointment takes immediate effective.

According to the release, this appointment follows the recommendation of the Search Committee, which identified Cllr. Barbu as the ideal candidate due to his extensive experience and qualifications.
Clir. Barbu’s distinguished career includes roles as the Head of the Law Reform Commission and as Dean of the Louis Arthur Grimes School of Law at the University of Liberia, among other notable positions.
“The President has expressed full confidence that Cllr. Barbu will carry out this vital role with unwavering dedication, a commitment to justice, and loyalty to the state as he looks forward to the significant contributions the new Executive Director will bring to the Office of the War and Economic Crimes Court in pursuit of justice for Liberia,” the release said.
President Boakai further calls on Cllr. Barbu to continue to demonstrate diligence, commitment, integrity, professionalism, and loyalty in service to country.
Barbu’s appointment comes in the wake of the withdrawal of the first Executive Director following public outcry over his selection process.
