Presidency, NASS collaborate to support Borno flood victims – Reps Speaker

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abass, revealed that the Presidency and National Assembly are working together to provide relief to flood victims in Borno State and other affected areas.
After meeting with Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abass told journalists that they discussed strategies to address the flooding incidents in Maiduguri and designed solutions to implement in the coming days.
Regarding the N3 billion government intervention for Maiduguri flood victims, Abass expressed confidence in Governor Babagana Zulum’s transparency, ensuring the funds would be judiciously distributed.
On the National Assembly’s plans to address flooding, Abass mentioned that they are taking measures to provide palliatives, collaborating with NEMA, and assisting affected states, including Niger and Kaduna.
The Speaker emphasized the National Assembly’s commitment to supporting flood victims across the country.
