Police in Nzaui Sub-county have launched investigations to establish the genesis of a protest by Form-two students at Matiliku Boys High School on Sunday night.
The 8pm incident resulted in students pelting, smashing and shattering windows panes of two classrooms whose value is yet to be established.
Makueni County Police Commander Joseph Ole Naipeyan said the incident was reported by the school’s Deputy Principal and added the situation has been contained after police and education officials and national administration officers rushed to the school.
He further said that an unknown number of students ran away from the school during the fracas and added that a roll call will be conducted today to account for those present.
Sources say that the motive of the unrest is due to complaints from students against severe disciplinary action they are subjected to by the school administration.
