The school year is about to kick off and it is almost time to start packing lunchboxes again. These plum jelly treats are a delicious, fruity sweet treat to prepare for the kids’ lunchboxes.
If you are a fan of jelly sweets, this easy recipe may just become a family favourite. Preparing these plum jelly treats is much easier than you think. Within about an hour, you will be able to bite into these soft, fruity sweets and enjoy a burst of plum flavour on your palate.
These plum jelly treats are perfect to enjoy when you crave something sweet or when your energy levels are running low. So, including these sweet bites in your children’s lunchboxes, will rejuvenate them when energy stores start running low.

Plum jelly treats recipe

15 plums, halved and stoned
½ cup water
½ cup caster sugar
6 tablespoons gelatin powder
silicone mould of your choice
non-stick cooking spray
Place the plums in a small saucepan with the water and simmer until soft.
Place in a blender and process until smooth.
Strain the liquid through a sieve and return to the pot (alternatively, if you have a juicer, simply juice the fruit and place it in the saucepan).
Add the caster sugar and dissolve over low heat.
Sponge the gelatin in a little water, according to the package instructions.
Once, sponged, place the gelatin in the warm plum liquid and stir to dissolve.
Lightly spray your mould with the non-stick spray and place it on a baking tray.
Carefully pour the liquid into the mould – using a jug – and place it in the fridge for an hour and a half, or until set. Pop-out and enjoy!
