Pirates enter race to sign key Kaizer Chiefs transfer target
Orlando Pirates have reportedly entered the race to sign a player Kaizer Chiefs have strongly been linked with!
The Buccaneers are looking to build a championship winning team, and securing top talent is top of the agenda in Mayfair.
According to the latest transfer gossip, the Buccaneers are interested in signing Kaizer Chiefs linked Polokwane City star Thabang Matuludi!
The 25-year-old right-back has been a standout performer for Rise and Shine since the beginning of last season, scoring four goals while assisting four more in just 41 matches.
Pirates, Stellies and Kaizer Chiefs set for transfer duel
“Chiefs were leading the race to sign him and unfortunately for him, the move didn’t happen before the last transfer window closed,” an insider told Citizen.
“There have been enquiries about him and I’m told Orlando Pirates are also monitoring the situation. Remember Kaizer Chiefs wanted to also get his teammate Oswin Appollis but that move also didn’t happen because the City chairman is a hard man to convince into selling.”
In other news, Kaizer Chiefs legend Mandla Masango believes the club needs a player like Bongani Zungu to strengthen their midfield.
The Glamour Boys are lacking experience this season, making the midfield maestro the perfect new addition.
Zungu has been unemployed since being released by Mamelodi Sundowns at the close of last season, meaning he can join Kaizer Chiefs immediately!
Take a look at what former Amakhosi speedster Mandla Masango had to say below.
Why Kaizer Chiefs must sign Bongani Zungu – Masango
“The youngsters are doing well, but they need support. A player like Bongani Zungu is available, and maybe they should go for him,” former Kaizer Chiefs star Mandla Masango told Radio 2000 as quoted by IOL.
“You can see that he (Nabi) wants to play more counter attacks and he wants to try and neutralise the midfield and he wants to build from the back also.
“In my opinion maybe a player like Bongani Zungu who is currently a free agent. I think Nabi just needs a pivot who can be the link between the defence and the attack at Kaizer Chiefs.“
