It’s no secret that Proteas wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock is an avid, and clearly excellent, fisherman.
De Kock seizes every available opportunity to take a break from cricket to get out his fishing rod and cast away in the hopes of landing his next ‘big one’.
De Kock, who recently became a father for the first time, is most often found on the Knysna Lagoon, but this week headed for Gqeberha to recharge and do some fishing.
And judging by his Instagram account, it was a particularly successful trip!
The 29-year-old sensationally quit the Test arena in late 2021 and therefore has time on his hands while his compatriots are in New Zealand preparing to take on the Black Caps in two Tests later this month.
Quinton de Kock is expected to face Bangladesh
De Kock is expected to be back in the Proteas’ fold in March when Bangladesh visit Mzansi for a three-match ODI (and two-Test) series.
